The effect of the transition school to university readiness program on career adaptability and academic well-being on freshman students

Freshmen students on arrival to the university as they face with new opportunities, they deal with many problems and stressful factors as well. In many cases, students aren’t able to manage their new situation and this creates many problems for them. The present study was designed to investigate the effect of training the program transition from school to university on adaptability rate and educational well-being of freshman students of Isfahan University in the 2015-16 academic-year. This study was a semi-experimental study utilizing pre-test and post-test control group design. Population included freshman students at Isfahan University (N=1434). Initially the freshman students were invited to participate in the training program. A total of 32 people were randomly selected and placed in two experimental and control groups. Participants in the experimental group were trained in a program transition from school to university program and the control group received no intervention. To collect data, Career Adaptability Questionnaire (CAA) and Well-being Questionnaire were used. After intervention, the average scores of educational well-being (  and career adaptability (  of experimental group were increased significantly. The results showed that training program transition from school to university was effective in increasing students’ career adaptability and educational well-being.
